Welcome!

This is the home page for HealthWorks, the Complementary Health Centre in Forres, in the North of Scotland. Our aim is to care for our local community by providing the best in Complementary Medicine.  All of our practitioners are fully qualified, members of an appropriate professional body,  and work to the highest standards. Our range of therapies is perhaps the widest of any Complementary Health Centre, outside of the big cities.
Please explore the wide range of therapies we have by browsing this site. See our List of Therapies available. You can use it as a learning resource; have a look at the books available in our library;  or book a session with one of our highly qualified practitioners. If you are not sure which is the best therapy for you, please feel free to email us at info@healthworks.uk.net  and we will do our best to help.

Our Aim

Our aim is to serve our local community by offering complementary and alternative medicine, and to bridge the artificial gap between our approach and that of conventional medicine.

To this end we actively seek co-operation with local GPs in the NHS, whilst retaining a very person-oriented approach. We work as a collective to give you all we can in your quest for a healthy and stress-free life.

We want you to be in charge of your own health, and to have access to all the latest information about complementary therapies, so we have a small but high quality lending-library to assist you in making the right decisions for yourself.

Company Profile

We are a team of practitioners united by one principal - we care about your health. Our centre is owned and managed by a local charity called Healthworks (Holistic Health Care Ltd), a Scottish charity No.SCO21152. Healthworks’ practitioners are self-employed therapists, and are fully accredited, have indemnity insurance, and be members of an appropriate professional body. In this way we try to ensure that the highest standards of treatment and care are given. Healthworks is also involved in educating the public about complementary health and lifestyle issues, and in doing charitable deeds. In the past Healthworks directors have been taking part in discussions with the Prince of Wales’ Foundation for Integrated Medicine, looking at ways and means of co-operation with conventional medicine.
HealthWorks has set up the charitable “Access to Health Fund” from the surplus generated by the company’s activities. The fund has in the past provided for the following charitable deeds:

  • Annual Health & Lifestyle Fair at Forres town hall each March (ongoing since 2003)
  • Book library, information and research publications on major health issues (ongoing since 2003)
  • Bursary Fund for Healthworks clients (ongoing since 2003)
  • Free treatments for Forres NHS and local secondary school staff to demonstrating to them the benefits of Alternative Medicine (2003/ 2004)
  • Financial assistance to other groups, such as ” Doctors and Healers Working together” at Leanchoil Hospital (2004)
  • Pilot study with Carers in association with ” The Moray Carers Project” (2005)
  • Free treatment sessions for Carers in association with ” The Moray Carers Project” (2007 / 08)
  • All of the company’s banking is done with banks who are consumer-led and guided by ethical principles.
